Some of our third grade students were on hand at the Honolulu Mini Maker Faire to share one of their science projects. The Space Exploration Vehicles (SEVs) have been a part of Mrs. Warners science curriculum as part of their space unit. After researching and imagining, they planned a SEV that would either orbit or land on a planet. The students then made the SEVs out of recyclable materials and old computer parts. Once done, some students connected LEDs and batteries to their vehicles, while others wrote programs on Scratch and connected MakeyMakeys.
For the Maker Faire, we brought in a few students to demonstrate their programs and the interaction they made using the MakeyMakey.
