Sixth Grade Egyptian Artifact Projects

Early in the first quarter, our 6th graders begin to study Ancient Egypt in their social studies class. They are given the assignment to research an artifact and recreate it. Then they have to make a presentation to the class. For this project, they can make the artifact at home or school. At school they have the option of the Art room or our Lab. This year over 60 students made projects using our laser cutter and more than 10 made theirs on the 3D printers. With about 150 sixth graders, that's about half that took advantage of using digital fabrication.

Below are some pictures of the students working in the Lab. Once the students present to their classes, the artifacts will be displayed in the Library. We'll post more picture at that time.
